Nach insgesamt fast 13 Jahren als Abgeordneter im Landtag Baden-Württemberg verabschiede ich mich zum Ende des Jahres von meiner Tätigkeit als politischer Repräsentant des Landkreises Lörrach vom Landtag Baden-Württemberg. Ende 2023 werde ich diese politische Bühne verlassen und mich zunächst vor allem einigen wichtigen familiären Aufgaben widmen.

Anlässlich der letzten Sitzung am 21.12.2023 verabschiedete mich Landtagspräsidentin Muhterem Aras mit herzlichen Worten, wofür ich ihr ganz herzlich danke. Hier finden sie das Video dazu.

Die vergangenen Jahre waren geprägt von Begegnungen im Rahmen der Landtagsarbeit in Stuttgart, in grenzüberschreitenden Gremien, wie dem Oberrheinrat, auf der europäischer Ebene im Ausschuss der Regionen in Brüssel und dem Kongress der Regionen und Gemeinden Europas in Strassburg, sowie nicht zuletzt in meinem Wahlkreis Lörrach. Ich durfte mit kommunalen, regionalen und nationalen Verantwortungsträger:innen, mit Unternehmen, Initiativen, Organisationen und engagierten Persönlichkeiten aus der ganzen Breite unserer Gesellschaft im Austausch stehen. Diese Gespräche und Kontakte waren ein wesentlicher Inhalt und Anker, um meine Funktion als Abgeordneter verantwortungsvoll mit Leben zu füllen. Sie waren auch Grundlage für wichtige Entscheidungen, die in den vergangenen 13 Jahren zu treffen waren.

Für das entgegengebrachte Vertrauen und die wertvolle Zusammenarbeit möchte ich mich an dieser Stelle herzlich bedanken. Der konstruktive Austausch mit den Bürgerinnen und Bürgern haben mich bei meiner Arbeit unterstützt und mich stets an die gemeinsame Weiterentwicklung und Gestalten unserer Gesellschaft glauben lassen.

Ich bin sicher, dass meine Nachfolgerin, Frau Sarah Hagmann, die an sie gestellten Aufgaben hervorragend erfüllen wird, weil sie über die nötige Integrität und Charakterstärke verfügt. Ich wünsche ihr bei ihrer zukünftigen Arbeit alles Gute.

Après un total de presque 13 ans en tant que député au Landtag de Bade-Wurtemberg, je fais mes adieux à la fin de l’année à mon activité de représentant politique du Landkreis de Lörrach auprès du Landtag de Bade-Wurtemberg. Fin 2023, je quitterai cette scène politique pour me consacrer avant tout à quelques tâches familiales importantes.

A l’occasion de la dernière séance, le 21 décembre 2023, la présidente du Landtag, Muhterem Aras, m’a fait ses adieux avec des mots chaleureux, ce dont je la remercie vivement. Vous trouverez ici la vidéo à ce sujet.

Ces dernières années ont été marquées par des rencontres dans le cadre du travail du Landtag à Stuttgart, dans des instances transfrontalières comme le Conseil rhénan, au niveau européen au Comité des régions à Bruxelles et au Congrès des pouvoirs locaux et régionaux de l’Europe à Strasbourg, sans oublier ma circonscription électorale de Lörrach. J’ai pu échanger avec des responsables communaux, régionaux et nationaux, avec des entreprises, des initiatives, des organisations et des personnalités engagées de toute la société. Ces discussions et ces contacts ont constitué un contenu et un ancrage essentiels pour donner vie à ma fonction de député de manière responsable. Ils ont également servi de base aux décisions importantes qui ont dû être prises au cours des 13 dernières années.

Je tiens à vous remercier chaleureusement pour la confiance que vous m’avez accordée et pour votre précieuse collaboration. L’échange constructif avec les citoyennes et les citoyens m’a soutenu dans mon travail et m’a toujours permis de croire au développement et à l’aménagement communs de notre société.

Je suis certain que ma successeure, Madame Sarah Hagmann, s’acquittera parfaitement des tâches qui lui seront confiées, car elle dispose de l’intégrité et de la force de caractère nécessaires. Je lui souhaite le meilleur dans son travail futur.

After a total of almost 13 years as a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, I will be retiring from my role as a political representative of the district of Lörrach in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament at the end of the year 2023. I will be leaving this political stage at the end of 2023 and will initially be devoting myself to some important family commitments.

At the last session on 21 December 2023, the President of the State Parliament, Muhterem Aras, bid me farewell with warm words, for which I thank her very much. You can watch the video here.

The past few years have been characterised by encounters as part of my work in the state parliament in Stuttgart, in cross-border committees such as the Upper Rhine Council, at European level in the Committee of the Regions in Brussels and the Congress of European Regions and Cities in Strasbourg, and last but not least in my constituency of Lörrach. I had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with local, regional and national decision-makers, companies, initiatives, organisations and committed individuals from across the breadth of our society. These discussions and contacts were an essential content and anchor for me to responsibly fill my role as a member of parliament with life. They were also the basis for important decisions that had to be taken over the past 13 years.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for the trust placed in me and the valuable cooperation.

The constructive dialogue with citizens has supported me in my work and has always made me believe in the joint further development and shaping of our society.

I am certain that my successor, Mrs Sarah Hagmann, will fulfil the tasks assigned to her with the necessary integrity and strength of character. I wish her all the best in her future work.
